Cris Dishman

COACHING EXPERIENCE 
Cris Dishman is in his fourth season at Baylor, his second as an assistant coach working with the safeties, a role he was promoted to in January 2015.

Dishman mentored two All-Big 12 honorees in 2015, as both Baylor starting safeties Orion Stewart (64 tackles, one interception) and Chance Waz (70 tackles, three PBUs) earned honorable mention honors from the league coaches.

A 13-year NFL veteran, All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler as a player, Dishman also brought several years of coaching experience prior to joining the Bears.

From 2009 to 2012, Dishman was a secondary assistant coach for the San Diego Chargers, where in 2011 he coached Eric Weddle to his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Prior to the Chargers, he coached two seasons at Menlo College in Northern California, where he was the defensive backs coach and later the defensive coordinator.

From 2005 to 2008, Dishman spent time coaching with the Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins and Chargers as part of the NFL's minority coaching fellowship program. He spent the 2005 season coaching DBs for the Berlin Thunder of the NFL Europe League.

During his time as a player and coach, Dishman played and coached under accomplished NFL coaches Jerry Glanville, Dennis Green, Ron Rivera, Buddy Ryan, Nick Saban and Norv Turner.

Prior to jumping into coaching, Dishman spent time after retiring from the NFL assisting college prospects to prepare for the NFL Combine.
